Season 2 – Justice, 2024-2025
The Wish, Stage to Screen Cabaret, Never The Sinner, TBA Shakespeare!
Our second season has unfolded into a season of prominent stories of justice. Our season opener was THE WISH, a play about the attack on abortion rights in America and how we as a community can reclaim them. Moving into a Musical cabaret featuring songs from our favorite movies-turned-musicals, we turned towards levity and joy. Finishing our time in Rhode Island, we pivoted to Never the Sinner, the dramatic retelling of the Leopold and Loeb murder trial. Stay tuned to hear what we do for SNB!
Season 1 – autonomy, 2023-2024
Women of Musical Theatre Cabaret, the awakening of spring, Queer Voices of Musical Theatre Cabaret, Twelfth Night
What we consider our first “official” season, where we debuted a full production in Rhode Island! The season, titled Autonomy, presented programing that explored themes of self actualization, enlightenment, discovery, and finding your voice. We introduced musical theatre cabarets, continued to develop new work at PVD FRINGE, and expanded the reach of our mission.
first year
A Midsummer night’s Dream, Suite Meeting: A reading, Dream Makers: new Work Festival, The Tempest
In our first year of operation, we produced our first Shakespeare in New Bedford under our name and the first iteration of Suite Meeting by Brysen Boyd, the play we had been developing with him as our resident playwright. We also presented a new works festival, presenting another reading of Suite Meeting, a workshop showing of a hip hop musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, and a live poetry presentation! We rounded out of first year back under the tent at the RJD with another Shakespeare production.
